There are no arguments. “The right to bear arms shall not be infringed.” That is not only the foundation of our nation, but all of our liberties. 🇺🇸 The only person that can tell you, you can’t have a weapon is the person selling it to you.

The Second Amendment is specifically about citizens owning weapons of war to defend themselves against government tyranny.

  • @retiefgregorovich810

Up until lately, Americans owned military weapons, often better than what the military had. The Supreme Court will eventually take a case, but only after the case has been fully vetted by lower courts, which is taking FOREVER. The 2nd amendment is always needed. "A government fearful of an armed populace, is deferential to that populace." Not quite the correct quote, but close, I think.

Why would the second amendment need to single out individual rifles and pistols by name? It states arms referring to all arms. This wording covers them all without the need to single out model or make. Like it or not, trying to reinterpret the amendment in any way to attempt to subvert and intact any new law stripping this right is tantamount to treason and should be treated as such.

You start with incorrect info. Armalite's AR-15 was invented in the 1950s. The Second Amendment was written to recognize and protect the right of citizens' to keep and bear arms insuring the right wouldn't be infringed. Our founders in the Militia Act of 1793 required all able bodied civilian males 17-45 yo except for some public servants to own a military rifle, ammunition and train with it. Current US Code defines the unorganized militia the same group of 18-45 year olds. We should be able to own the same or better arms as the military. You forgot to mention the criteria SCOTUS has used like text, history, tradition, in common use, etc. You shouldn't read anything into the refusal to grant sert to the current cases. None have worked there way thru the system. Check out the Four Boxes Diner channel for accurate info on SCOTUS, federal courts, and the Second Amendment.

The volly gun is by law protected by the second amendment which if a cartridge gun would be considered full auto. It has no use for hunting, it is solely a military arm. The ar 15 was invented for the purpose of small game and pest hunting, it's modern use as a military arm is a secondary result. Thus the second amendment should cover the ar 15 and all arms.

We aren't going to be beating any modern military force with bolt action rifles. Probably not AR-15s for that matter but we would stand a much better chance.

I can’t believe Americans have allowed the federal government to so restrict our 2A which is a right enshrined in the constitution. We don’t have to pay a $200 tax on any other right. Think about it. We’re literally allowing them to tax us on a God given right. Pisses me off and breaks my heart. We must keep fighting for our rights. For our children’s futures.

I believe, or at least led to believe, that the first ten amendments to the Constitution known as the Bill of Rights, are interpreted to be individual rights. Why in the fuck then, would the Militia need a guaranteed right to bear arms? In what world does any military of any kind need an amendment to protect its right to arm itself.

The purpose of the 2nd amendment was for civilians to kill public officials who overstepped their power. Which literally happened 10 years after we won independence. The founding fathers pardoned all the people who murdered their local officials because, and here's the important bit, THAT WAS THE POINT OF THE 2ND AMENDMENT.

The AR-15 is actually more effective in civilian use because civilians face lesser threats than the military. The M-16A4 and M-4 are less effective in military use because machine guns, bombs, artillery, mortars, missiles, and heavy weapons like the MK-19 and M-2 inflict the most casualties.
